These are two beautiful flowers that are blooming right now. The first one is an orchid (Brassocattleya Hoku Gem 'Sunspots') and the second one is my Mexican Sunflower, which fell over one night during a storm. I thought it wasn't going to make it, but it kept growing and has produced a couple beautiful blooms.

Both of your blooms are real show stoppers. I'm so glad your Mexican Sunflower recovered after the storm to produce such lovely flowers.

Great pictures...I once grew Mexican Sunflowers...a very tall variety, didn't grow one this year. I want these beautiful flowers back in my garden this coming year.

Both are definitely "eye-poppers". I have had no luck with orchids... but maybe I could give that sunflower a try.

Kathy - That one in the picture got up to about 10-12 feet tall before it fell over.

Cheryl - I hope to have some seeds soon for the sunflower if you would like some to try. They are very easy to grow and are pretty maintenance free. That goes for anyone else who might want some seeds too.

    Sjoerd - I do what I can with what I have. :-D

Good morning, I really like the orchid, colour combinations on some orchids are amazing arent
they?If one was to put those colours together in the house or to wear them they just wouldnt go....but nature makes it work.
