    Hi,

    I joined this site yesterday.

I retired two years ago when the plant I was working in closed. I was one of the lucky ones who was old enough to retire. I can play in the dirt every day now.

I have both flower and vegetable gardens. I start almost all my seeds using the winter sowing method.

Last April I bought two rabbits. I feed them and they give me those chocolate "M & M's" for my gardens.

Two years ago I had a mole/vole problem. They were eating my irises and lilies. The neighbor's cat was friendly and visited me often. I started feeding him a little cat chow each day and he started killing the moles/voles. Sometimes he would bring me half. I told him I wasn't very hungry. lol.

I enjoy doing crafts and painting rocks. I'm going to try to paint metal spoons. Make ornaments for the Christmas tree.

Hi Don and welcome. I love your m&m contribution. I only have chicken contributions, yours is much more interesting to quote, though. Glad to have you with us. I'm a stay at home mom and wife who does farmers markets all summer long, I don't know how anybody has time to have a job  .

Hello, and welcome to the forum! Retired, what's that? I retired and we moved to a small farm in Central Texas. My husband still works, mainly so he can work only 8 hours a day!
Like Carolyn, we have chickens who contribute to the groceries and to the compost pile. I have to admit, Chester and Caleb look more cuddly than my feathered ladies. With two bucks, I guess you aren't into breeding rabbits?

You're just the type of person we love here Don. You're a gardener, you love animals, (well with the exception of moles and voles ;)) you craft and you enjoy painting and making ornaments. :D You must let us see some of the rocks you've decorated. In time we'd also love to look at the spoons and the Christmas ornaments.
A warm welcome to our forums from Scotland in the UK. :stew1:

Hello and welcome from SE Texas.
I had to chuckle when you said you got M&Ms from your rabbits. I still call them "Trix" after the breakfast cereal with that famous rabbit mascot. "Silly Wabbit... Trix are for Kids"! I never ate that cereal again once I made the connection. :-o
Anyhow... sounds like you've got alot going on and looking forward to getting a peak of everything.

Hi, I'm new here too, but I love the site already. I'm originally from PA, long, long, time ago. I love the mountains up in the NE.

Looking forward to seeing those painted stones. I've always thought that was a neat idea. I read about a lady who used to paint a pic on the underside of stones and then place them back where they came from on her property. What a wonderful surprise to people who in the future may buy that property.

Can't wait to see your pics.

Welcome from Texas! I must be retired, too. At least I don't have a job to go to every day but I think some days I put in a full days work and then some. I try not to work any more than I have to though so I have plenty of time to do what I like to do. Sew, play on the computer, bake, garden, garden, garden, garden. We'll look forward to more pictures.

Hi Don and welcome; this is a great place to hang out, you'll like it a lot. I'm from Missouri and we get plenty of free "chocolate M & M's" here - especially in our flower gardens :) ... Love Chester, Caleb, and Shadow!
