I have been really having fun looking at a new site called Pinterest. Today I found a picture of something I am definitely going to try in the spring...filling a suet feeder with strands of yarn and string for the bird's nests. You can see a picture here:

To see the whole crazy online magazine...which changes constantly as they day goes by you can check out this fun link:

The ladies will probably find it more interesting than the men. A few strange things, but mostly good recipes and good ideas. Take a look.

Providing nesting material is a great idea, just make sure it is cotton or wool yarn and cotton string. The nylon ones don't have the "give" necessary, and can strangle or choke nestlings. Any natural fiber yarn or string is better than the man-made fibers.
Of course, if you have Bewick's Wrens, they don't need much encouragement.Tthey will make a nest in the pocket of a shirt drying on the clothesline!

That is a great idea! I've been 'pinning' too, but haven't run across that one yet.
    Great site...very addictive!

That was an good idea to help birds. I like it when folks on here suggest links that may be helpful.
This one could be a good one. I reckon that one could fill that suet ball feeder with anything that a bird might use, couldn't they.

Sjoerd and Netty, I have bookmarked, and already have used many of the ideas on the site. Every now and then someone will post something a little "racy," but I've noticed it is quickly removed by the person/persons who edit. Some of the decorating and holiday ideas are so simple but stunning, and I say, "Now why didn't I think of that?" Also, the recipes are very good. :-D
