We are having what i would call mild weather for December,..some frost late at night and lingering until morning,..but enough blooms in the garden to put a smile on your face having the early morning cup of tea,..early morning being around 0530hrs. My mystery Chrysanthemum has produced a small bud to give me some idea as to the flowers colour,..this plant was given to me by a friend,..after he had cropped it and then could not say which colour he was giving to me . ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden ) Another gift i got of late was a "Phygelius",'Candy Drops Cream',..i have it close to the house for protection and its thriving. It's not fair Philip that you've still got so much colour when my garden is now nothing but monochrome. Great pics though even although I'm a tad jealous.
Hi Eileen, lol at monochrome,..now that opened my two eyes,..i was thinking of you early this morning when the wind was howling here and the news telling me it was 170 mph wind in Scotland,..wow!,..hope you are all in one piece there.
We're also monochrome. I love your colours. We've got green. That ought to count for something. When does spring arrive where you live, Philip?
Hi folks, i really don't understand the seasons anymore,..many plants that i have should not be blooming in December,..but its nice to see them,..this time last year we had lots of snow,..but now its just a frost at night then it varies between sun and cloud during the day. Our Spring starts on the 1st of Feb,..but the Meteorologists would say 21st of March at the Spring Equinox,..i would prefer to think of it being 1st of Feb as its not that far off,..yep a short winter.
Nice blooms, Philip. Really a pleasure to see. My hydrangea was also in bloom the last tine I was on the allotments. It's a little crazy, isn't it? ....but who's complaining, right. My blueberry bushes are in bud! At any rate, it is good to see your flowers on here.
Hi Sjoerd, crazy seasons is true,..my Aquilegia are about six inches above ground,..nice green shoots and lots of leaf,..also my Hemerocallis are showing new shoots,..i wouldn't like to be writing a garden book on what grows when, lol.
ok you people with that warm weather...how about sharing???! great pics philip! they warmed me up a bit!
