I was given a quarter bushel of Peaches. Made jam now I have pits, the peaches are sweet and juicy and made some wonderful jam and peach pies.

I have 15 of them, PM me your address if you would like some.

What to do with a peach pit. Make a monkey out of it.

Toni, I have about 1/2 dozen peach pits I put in the refridgerator 2 monts ago. What is the best way to plant them and the time also? Should I cut thru the seed first? Soak it or ? Thank you for the advice.

I don't grow peaches but there was a very old peach tree in our yard when we bought the house..it died off a few years ago.
The last few years of it's life, the fruit dropped to the ground unripened and I never got the chance to pick them up so even now every spring we have oodles of peach tree saplings that pop up unwanted.

The only advice I can give on planting them would be put them in the ground where you want them or in pots out in the sun and let them do what comes naturally. If the hull needs to be soaked or scarified, the rain and fluctuating cold and warm temperatures of winter should take care of that. Mother Nature has been doing it that way for hundreds of years
    ;)

I just planted a peach tree at the beginning of this year. I can't wait for it to produce. Not only for the blossoms and fruit... but I want a peach pit monkey of my very own! :D

Thank you, Toni, that was an easy fix. I'll let Mother Nature take care of it.
