Is it just me or have you noticed how often in a restaurant the ketchup bottle on the table is upside down, standing on the cap instead of the base. Whoever is doing this has to be stopped as it is against all the laws of nature. Condiment bottles are designed to stand on their base with the lid or cap on top. To do otherwise will cause no end of chaos and confusion. Next thing you know they will bring you your glass of iced tea and put it on the table upside down, causing the flooding of the table and surroundings. After that they will probably do the same thing with a full dinner plate, causing a horrible mess. In the grocery store the other day I saw a whole shelf full of ketchup bottles upside down. I took the time to correct them all and noticed that this plot must start at the factory as all the labels were glued on upside down. I wrote a letter to the president of the ketchup company telling him about all the problems they were starting. I ask you all to help me end this madness of upside down bottles. When you go out to a restaurant, do what I do. Turn all the bottles on the tables in your section right side up. This has to be stopped and only we can do it. dr
It's the small things in life that irritate the most isn't it? With me it's the little sachets of ketchup that, no matter how you try, they never want to open until they're sure they're going to splash their contents all over you and the table!!
i hate it when you forget to shake the bottle and you get a helping of ketchup juice rather than the sauce all over your chips!! damn you ketchup!!! :-x
If the ketchup is too thick and does not pour easily than we should petition the ketchup company to thin it down by adding more water. This is what these companies do with everything else to make it more profitable anyway. It would be to their advantage to do so. Upside down bottles are no answer to the problem. They are an abomination against the laws of nature. Nothing good will come of them. dr
Give up ketchup, use salsa! Salsa is rapidly becoming the national condiment. Sales surpassed ketchup a few years ago. A good salsa will also clear your sinuses.
Just you watch, the next thing they do will be to put salsa in upside down bottles. Once it starts it's hard to stop it. It has to be nipped in the bud. dr
Due to an error in logistics the ketchup company now acknowledges that their upside down bottles were destined for Australia and New Zealand. For years people 'down under' have struggled with extracting condiments from bottles until the company solved the orientation problem. The company also acknowledges that the equipment producing the correctly orientated containers was inadvertently destroyed. It will be several years till the new equipment is re-manufactured if at all. The company apologies for any inconvenience it may have caused its customers. Jerry P.S. Don't blame me, it's not my fault, I'm only the messenger.
Thank you so much, Jerry, for the explanation. It's good to know someone who has contact with the industry. I feel much better about it now. Thanks again. dr
