I finally got the frosting and cherries on the stollen. Now, I've to deliver two of them, leaving one for me and one for dr. They are for Christmas breakfast and the day after and the day after and they day after. Maybe a bit left for New Year's? Stollen, anyone! ( photo / image / picture from dooley's Garden ) dooley
Dooley, Beautiful stollens! I bet they taste even better than they look. I love the green/red decorations.
Mmmm I'm sure I can smell them way over here. I just know they're going to be absolutely delicious. The decoration on them is beautiful. Well done!!
Oh yes,yes,yes---We alwaus eat those here at this time of year as well as Easter. I really do like them.
I'm glad I'm looking at your stollen after I have eaten. I would be hungry otherwise. They look too tempting to last a week. Jerry
Dooley they do look yummy. My Mom and I always have Norwegian Holiday Julekage bread at Christmas. We love the cardamom spice that is in it. Have you ever had it? I have to travel over 40 miles to get it for us at Christmas time. Next year I will try and make my own. You did a great job.
I don't know how I missed this posting. If those taste half as good as they look... they would be scrumptious!
I thought our two would last until New Year's. There is only an end chunk off of the smaller one left. I will have to make something else for New Year's. I still have cranberry bread and lemon/poppyseed bread that I put in the freezer. There are cookies left, too. dooley
Cheryl, those stollen taste even BETTER than they look, and they look darned good! Dooley was kind enough to share her recipe with me, and there are happy people with crumbs on their faces all up and down the road.
I think I've heard of Stollen mentioned at some point in my life, but really didn't have a clue about them until Dooley's post (and some follow-up online searches)... and now I feel that I've missing out on something REALLY good all these years! :-D
