To wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2012. Unfortunately I have not been here a lot lately as I have been hobbleing around with a sore knee. I have to have a total knee replacement in January so I hope to be a bit more active in time for the gardening season! I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to getting back into the swing of things in the not too distant future.
Merry Christmas Pat. Many thanks for the lovely e.card you sent. So sorry to hear that you're in such pain though. I hope all goes well for you in January and that you'll soon be feeling back to your old self.
Merry Christmas, GG-- sorry to hear about that knee, but VERY glad to hear from you! All the bestwith the holidays and good luck with that surgery.
Thanks so much everyone. It is VERY frustrating for me at the moment as I like to keep active, especially with my new puppy, Brodie, who is running rings around everyone at the moment I have heard conflicting views about this op, but am trying to look on the bright side. Doc says I have a couple of things in my favour, I am not overweight and I am normally an active person, so fingers crossed. God Bless everyone, enjoy your Christmas Day.
Just been taking a turn around the GS forums. As my operation draws nearer I must admit to getting a bit jittery. I am normally quite brave about these things having had quite a few ops in my time but this one for some reason is really getting to me, I don't know why. At least once I have had it done I will be glad to pass the time that I can't be very active strolling around GS to keep up with all your news. Happy New Year everyone.
We'll all keep you in our thoughts as you have your operation and recuperate. You can always browse seed catalogs and then report back here on the Stew!
Thank you marlin. I have been browsing the catalogues and planning my garden for this coming summer. Lets hope I will be fit enough to make a start early enough to get them going in time
Happy new year, Gardengirl, and good luck with your upcoming operation. I'm certain you'll do just fine and be ready to garden a little bit once spring arrives. At least you can surf the net while you're recuperating.
I think it would be odd if you WEREN'T nervous Gardengirl. My sisters father-in-law had a knee replacement and he was able to golf again. I'm sure it will all work out fine and you'll be good to garden this summer.
Hey Gardengirl, Hope your surgery goes real well, and you are back to all normal activities soon. My Mom had the knee replacement surgery, and I think she did so well because she was a very good patient and was very diligent with her post op physical therapy; even when it hurt like hell and she didn't want to do it, she did and it helped with a swift recovery. This is a good time to have this surgery too, you can recover during the dormant season, and be good as new for spring! Good luck!
Thank you all so much for your positive comments, this has made me feel so much better. I am trying to keep as fit as I can as I think this aids in recovery. A friend of mine popped in to see how I was today and she told me that a chap who lives nearby who is 90 yrs old has had both knees done and is now striding along like a youngster so it is all looking quite hopeful.
Pat I've had both knees replaced and can honestly say that I'm now pain free and can move around much better. It's just a pity that my hips have decided to play up now and I'm on the waiting list to have the right one replaced.
You're going to be fine. Sorry to here that you are a bit jittery, but that is normal. Hang in there...and do not forget--you have a website full of support here. (lil hug)
