Gentle rain tonight with thunder in the distance. I hope it rains all night. I am glad it held off so I could get the lawn mowed and swept today. It was getting rather long.

The temps are around 15 to 16 degrees here , plenty of rain here at night and the grass and plants seem to have taken on a new lease of life . I see that you still have no rain Toni  its a pity we can't export some of our soft Irish weather over to you . The weather here is perfect for gardening and its a pleasure to walk down the garden and get the fresh veggies for dinner . Since the rain came all the lawns have taken on a lush green sheen . it was the driest Summer here since 1976 . It sure makes you appreciate the earths most precious resource , Water

Yeah, and I got another 1/4" this morning with yet another really heavy storm heading our way for this afternoon.

See the DFW in the middle of the screen? I am above the last leg of the W close to where the highway going to Denton crosses the black line that is the Dallas County line. And if you are looking at the radar image anytime around 11:40 am my time, then all of that glob of reds and golds on the bottom left of the screen is what will be passing over us later today.

We had all that rain last week from some hurricane or tropical storm off the west coast of Mexico. I see that instead of continuing up the coast it turned and crossed Mexico and moved up into Texas. So, we did send you our rain, Toni. It's nice and sunny here until Wednesday or Thursday and then there is a chance of another "stray" thunderstorm or an isolated shower. I watered some stuff yesterday because things in pots dry out soon if there isn't rain. It's going to be 90 today. Dooley

Foggy this morning on the way into work. I don't like driving in the fog. Fortunately I only have 8 miles to get there. Stayed overcast most of the day with a few raindrops here and there.

Very windy here in Essex yesterday, but no rain for the Notting Hill Carnival. Today is bright and breezy, good washing day!

Well we are getting a cool front moving in, upper 80's in the day and upper 60's at night, it will be a welcome relief from 98-100 degree daytime temps with even hotter heat indexes. We were staying at 78-82 at night.

We had rain the past four days. Yesterday and today it was misty showers if that means anything. This afternoon it cleared and the sun was real bright. It is to stay awhile but temps only in the 80's andat night down in the 60's. Feels real good to me.

    Ernesto

We had tropical storm Ernesto, brush past us yesterday. We were very lucky and only had rain which we needed badly and winds that didn't do much damage. I had brought all my potted plants inside and tied down everything I could. Now I have to put it all back again. This is the only thing I hate about living close the coast..hurricanes..ohh..and humidity. I'm about ready for the winter now. Cooler temps would sure feel good.

It's cool here this morning. But it's sunny. Clouds are building. I hope it doesn't rain again today. It's rained the past two days. We want to go to yard sales after my meeting this morning. Dooley

Finally we have some real weather to report. We are having the worst flooding in 10 years. The tv is showing fish swimming in the road. The horses need snorkels. I spent the morning directing water away from the barn. The barn was built at the bottom of a slope by the previous homeowners. Not great but it will have to do until we are able to build a nice one on higher ground.
Critterpainter, how are you doing in all this? Maybe I should come down there and the two of us can start on an ark!

Better find out how long a cubit is.
We are having a rain/wind event as well. Not like yours at all, just a typical South Louisiana way of changing the weather from way too warm for November to time to close the windows and doors. I hope all is OK with you and CP
