We recently did some sprucing up to the bathroom. Didn't have the money to totally redo it, but it looks much better. One "ugly" spot was next to the tub where, over the years, Mom had replaced shower curtain rods and scratched up the wood pretty bad.
So until we can replace it all, I decided to cover it up as best I could.
I thought about buying a plaque to put there, but then remembered these photos. They are our family favorites!

It's my sister and two older brothers. Story has it they were too dirty to come in the house for a bath.
So I had the photos enlarged and sprayed them with lots of coats of shellac.
I still need something across the top.. not sure what yet though.

Apart from them being family favourites those photographs tie in nicely with the whole bathroom theme. I think they're the ideal thing to decorate with. Clever you for thinking of a great way to cover up those scratches. :-D

The littlest brother in the photo just saw it... he laughed and agreed... good place for them.
We were all threatened earlier this year for his retirement party... if that photo showed up in his tribute... someone was going to die! :D

What cute photos and perfect for bathroom decor.
I would have had to make a teeny print of his part of the photo and a pin or necklace from it just for the heck of it. ;)

Very cute idea. You could sell those. I'd love to hang them in my bathroom.

You brought back so many memories in these photos. I took my baths in old wash tubs in the back yard.I was usually to dirty to go in the house. It was so much fun. That was before we had indoor bathrooms. Thanks for the memories.

Toni... we thought about doing something like that for his party... but his wife insisted she didn't want to be divorced over it :D
Also... this was my first time shellacing a photo. First mistake... taking the file to a photo center at Target and making the print. As soon as the shellac touched the photo, the ink bubbled and ran. ARRGH! What the heck did I do wrong? Well, thanks to the good ol' internet I found out it has to be a REAL photo. So I ordered one from my fav online photo centers. I used up almost 3 cans of shellac. Hopefully that was enough. Guess time will tell.

Donna... not sure my siblings would appreciate their nakedness spread all over the world!

Glendann... I'm still not certain the story of being too dirty to come inside was the truth... or was it there just wasn't indoor plumbing in the house then?
I'll have to ask my sister and get the truth.

The great Texas coverup, great photo Cheryl and a very appropriate location.

LOL... no Jerry... the Dragon wasn't born/hatched yet... he was next inline. Then one more brother and then me.
This had to be mid 1951.

Cheryl, they are so cute. Not that I think your brothers wouldn't mind, but none of the rest of us would know him from the baby picture you have up there. To us it's the nostalgicness (is this a word?) of the picture.

Carolyn... if they knew I posted that here, I might be thrown out of the house! LOL
Oh wait... it just hit me. I said earlier they might not be happy with me posting their pics worldwide.
    Ooopss! I just did that, didn't I? :D
Hopefully they don't find it while doing some online research some day. :-D

Cherylad that is a great idea. Very cute picture of your siblings. Now you need to make up a little poem to go with the pic's like-----
Rub a dub, dub, three kids in their tubs. All splashing and laughing with glee. The dirt has to go from their head, to their toe. Now what a fine mess that would be.

Or something like that. I love those old family pic's. :stew1:

Tooty... that's a GREAT idea! I could put it at the top where there's space leftover.
