The Puget Sound Region (western Washington State) has been declared "Snow Whimps" by one newscast article this evening. It's true. We don't have major snows very often and freezing rain and snow even less. As I enjoyed the day taking photos and reading I am beginning to get a little antsy (cabin fever?) Here are some photos from today's yard. Temps are warming and there is a fine mist creating ice on everything. The icicles and ice coatings are even longer and thicker this evening. They are all really pretty. Jewell, If it wasn't so dangerous it would be beautiful. I had enough ice (and snow and rain) last year...Sorry to hear you have it now.
The best part is the photography, the worst part is having to deal with accidents and disruptions. Hope for a warm spell and the return to normal. In the mean time we can enjoy your pictures. Jerry
Ice, snow and frost make everything look so pretty but it's something I really don't want to have to contend with around here.
We all hope that ice goes away from you very soon but, quick, keep snapping those pictures cause it sure is beautiful to look at after it's gone. Barb in Pa.
Well, I have to say, Jewell--those are some pretty impressive shots. Each one is an image for a calender. They look very nice and give such a wintery feeling.
i feel your pain, jewell....we often have to deal with that type of weather....pictures are beautiful!...snow is one thing, but ice is a whole different story...just be careful if you must go out.
Thanks all for the kind comments. We are lucky and have not lost power. The governor did call a state of emergency. We are staying home and having an at-home vacation. The weather is above freezing this AM and rain is on its way. I hate how hard it is to get outside. All the photos were taken from inside or no more than four feet from a house door. Too slippery and I don't have any ice gear Mother Nature likes to provide interest to our lives. It will be interesting to see how we transition out of this weather.
