Was out walking around a while ago and noticed that there is some new growth at the base of the Autumn Joy. Looked at the ditch lilly beds, but didn't see anything up there yet. Thursday is Groundhog's Day, but he won't be staying out as there ain't much for him to much on!

We could start a new food item at grain and feed stores. Groundhog food!! :) 25 or 50 lb. bags. With a sale just prior to Feb. 2nd.

P.S. Everyone else gets food. Rabbits, chickens, dogs, cats, opossums if the dog or cat does not finish the food in their dish, why not groundhogs?

    groundhogs

I used to feed groundhogs, a lot. Finally had to shoot a couple, trap one and fill in some holes. They have the despicable habit of taking a big bite out of a tomato, throwing it down and pull another. Over and over. I'm sure it has contributed to many ulcers and high BP among gardeners, sure got me fired up. None here where I'm at now and I don't miss them at all. :-D

I had one a few years ago that got into my chicken yard...just after a raccoon took out 27 2week old newly feathered out...just ready to be pretty self sufficient chicks, it didn't fair very well once I was in the chicken yard....I didn't have to worry any more about being bothered by it for any reason what so ever. :scheming: :-x  I have kept my trusty greenhouse leftover tube in reach since then, too. I think I could even defend my family with it if I had to, Hopefully I won't have to try, though.
