Show Off Your Very Unusual Containers..Sinks, Toilets, etc!

Great stuff Toni. I especially like the plow. I think there's an old wheel around here somewhere. I may have to steal that idea from here.
See.. I told you all that my stuff was boring! :-D

 

When the old vacuum cleaner gave up i had nowhere to dump it,..now it houses a Fern.

Toni do keep an eye out for one,..they are rust proof and of course the mechanism lifts out leaving just the casing,..with wheels, .

Still boring! Now I'm determined to get something to plant in the ice cream maker!

 

All of these are great! I just found this on-line as I was thinking of using a tote bag for planting some flowers in.

Growing lettuce is really easy and it thrives in these plastic, reusable lunch bags, which can be bought at Whole Foods for just 79 cents. You could also grow flowers, herbs or many other container garden vegetables, equally successfully in any plastic, reusable grocery bag.

Lettuce is a great container gardening vegetable because with its short roots, you can grow lettuce in almost anything with good drainage - even a shallow container. However lettuce likes to be kept moist, and it is easier to keep your plants moist in a larger container that holds more soil, because the more soil, the better the water retention.

You can grow lettuce from seed or buy seedlings, which are usually inexpensive.

Start with a sunny spot, but one that isn't too hot. Most lettuces likes cooler temperatures, though you can find some varieties that are more heat tolerant (Black Seeded Simpson, Simpson Elite, Green Star or Tropicana, to name a few).

WOW!! Lots of creativity out there!!! Philip I love that fern!!!! Cheryl I don't see how you can call yourself boring! I'm crazy over the hollowed out stump and strawberry patch!!! I love the wagons & the pink bra too I bought my old wagon with every intention of planting in it but drag it behind me as a weed catcher/tool caddy You all make me want to go shopping for unusual containers!!!

 

Stratsmom.... I don't think you'll find an unusual container if you're really looking for it... it will find you when you least expect it!

 

Ok...I've stopped laughing(crying) for a few minutes!! You all are having a lot of fun with your minds...I'm enjoying looking at the creativity on here...the jeans were awesome...the chest of drawers...awesome.....the pink bra..i had to scream....lolllll...all the pics are wonderful and with a lot of imagination... Thank God I'm not by myself in using whatever I see or can find...my mind immediately goes to what can I plant in this...before i buy it!!!

My husband came up with that, then he found a picture of it. The pink bra, I think I'll do a pair of men's colored jockey shorts too!

 

Wow,some cute ideas here.Okietriker,I too think about garden displays instead of counting sheep when I can't sleep.
I utilize a variety of old wash tubs & buckets & had hubby build a wooden wheel barrow.Nice because I can move it to get the best exposure.

WOW, those are awesome and beautiful!
I want a few things that are really different like the bra and underwear cause most of my friends think I'm a little off at times anyway. But, let me explain, I'm getting older (now 65) and feel I've earned the right to be the way I am. A year ago last Sept. I had an accident on my "then" trike, which was totaled and nearly killed me. Airlifed off the highway and was in the hospital for 12 days with a concussion (I was wearing a helmet), 7 broken bones, skin graft on whole top of my left hand, compressed fracture disk in my lower back, liver bleed and brain bleed.

So, what I'm trying to say is, you never know when your time will come so I like to have fun and enjoy what I do. And yes, I have another trike and I still ride.
