I walked into the living room this morning and looked out the window and this is what I could see...a favorite bird of mine that makes me stop whatever I am doing and take notice.. I didn't even have time to open the blinds...I didn't want to take the chance of scaring him away...you can tell he is looking and trying to get a view of the food on the tray... http://youtu.be/SUKbHuqtpsk a video of the cardinal pictures I took that day... Those are great! I really really need a better zoom camera. I too love seeing the Cardinals... they're so nice and bright. Great job.
Wow, such great shots Sherry! You do have to careful about scaring Cardinals away, they are so cautious. They are my favorite birds, I love them!
I love cardinals, too! They're the only bright spot of color around here in the Midwest this time of year. Thanks for posting your pictures. Christine
Great Cardinal pictures. Very skittish birds. Our neighbor' s Cardinals often visit our feeder, they spend a large amount of time in a nearby bush before going to the feeder. During the summer the pair nest in a forsythia bush outside her window. Jerry
We have a lot of Cardinals in our yard but haven't gotten any pictures of them yet. A beautiful bird!
Sherry--great photo sequence! I love the shots of him looking over the edge of the roof, and then tilting his head to check out the bird feeder. I have forgotten what that kind of vision is called, but they can't see straight forward like us, can they?
Cayuga...I have never heard that about the cardinals eyesight...maybe someone else knows but I couldn't find it when I checked around some sites. Thank you everyone for the replys...they are one of my favorites too.. I am not very far away from them when they are on the tray feeder next to my patio... my zoom is 75-300....I waited this morning to see if he would return but I missed seeing him...hopefully he was at the other feeder when I was busy...
I had a lot of cardinals last year but have only seen a few this spring. I see them in trees when we are going out and about though. Hopefully we'll get some more back this year. dooley
