The county seat for Morgan County, is leveled. Two tornado's in 48 hours. This is the area where my family comes from. I still have lots of relatives there. Communication is nonexistent. The death toll is expected to rise appreciably once daylight rescue and recovery efforts begin. Reports have people trapped in demolished buildings. Century old churches have collapsed. In bound travel is prohibited, unless official/escorted first responders.
They said over 90 + storms. They said so many people going around taking pictures. But sad to have scam artist. Just looking not to help but steal. Or people just getting in way of people for victims trapped. They need lot of help.
OMG I do hope your family are all safe and well. Please let us know ASAP if you hear anything. I've got everything tightly crossed that you get some good news soon.
Prayers go out to all those effected by the severe storms and tornadoes. I hope your relatives are o.k. BFG. Jerry P.S. Such a large area is effected too.
Our thoughts are with you, and our hopes, also. Please let us know about the situation with your relatives as soon as you know something.
There is raw video available on YouTube. I can't bear to watch. I've heard nothing from the cousins and such that live there. I don't know if the town will be able to recover and survive. That is where I learned to garden and farm. Hitch mules, plow tobacco, butcher chickens, I guess you all know the drill. Ohh...Gawd.... the devastation.....
Pray they get help they need. Wish I was younger load 4x4 up with generator. air nailers and chain saws. We had help like that come help us out.And glad our National Guard boys are home to help people here. We got friend and relatives here-when we needed it.Get some Fema trailers in there Quick.
Update: I've talked to folks, who've been able to talk to folks, that have talked to folks. So this is 3rd or 4th hand information. No loss of life in the family. Several cousins lost everything but. Including farm implements and tractors. Time now for rebuilding. If you go to kentucky.com you can find links to aerial photo's of West Liberty and some surrounding area, post storms. Now would be a time to attempt to address the grinding poverty, illiteracy, high school drop out rates, and drug and alcohol abuse, during that rebuilding.
Seen on Tv guy said. I have firewood for very long time. Looked like red elm.And some one had brought him a camper. And put tarps on roof. Didn't take whole house down. Keep The Faith
