I bought some Daylilies last October.

And today... I got my first bloom!
    May I present "Paris Lace".

And as you can see, she has lots more buds just waiting to open.

There's another one with buds... hopefully in the next couple of days I'll have another photo to share. :stew2:

Nice looking daylily Cheryl, the first time a new one opens is always exciting. You have a great selection of lilies to look forward to blooming. Have you fertilized them yet?

I would be interested if or when the Catherine Woodbury blooms to compare the two zones and the difference. My CW usually opens around the second week in July.

Jerry... I did sprinkle some of the Microlife/Cottonseed Mill mix on them (and everything else) the last week of February. It wasn't alot, so today I was thinking that I may go ahead and give everything another dose since they are "waking up".
Does that sound like a good idea?
And you can bet I'll be posting each and everyone's "portrait" as they pose. :stew2:

Deanna... I think we went from Fall, to 2 days of winter, a little bit of spring... and then straight into summer!
Officially, we've been in the mid80s, but my thermometer in the shade got close to 90 yesterday.

If I were a plant... I'd be poking my head out soaking up the sunshine too!
I'm keeping a close eye on the Tropical Delight Mini you sent.
And I haven't forgotten about getting you something in return in May when I go back to the Daylily Farm. :stew2:

So pretty! I have several different daylilies & it's always such a treat to walk out to the garden & notice that the first one of the season has bloomed.

If the Google Bot has crawled in the right direction Microlife/Cottonseed Mill is a 6-2-1 fertilizer. I use a 10-10-10 granular fertilizer in a circle on all daylilies as recommended by a lifelong daylily grower.

Thanks Luv... they were my Mom's favorites. So I'm tickled to have more of a variety now.

Dang Jerry... I wish I would have read this earlier. I went ahead and gave everything another feeding of the "mix". I'm making a note right now to make sure to get some "triple 10" for them. Should I give them another feeding a few weeks? Or would that be too much?

Hi Cherylad--Really beautiful blooms! I particularly like 'Double Down', beautiful yellow.

Texas is way ahead of New England. My daylilies are little green shoots 1" tall!

Thanks Cayuga... I agree.. the yellow is pretty.

Here's another one. These are my mom's regular old orange Daylilies along the front of the house. This is the first of the year.
