It's only March 31st and I found the first little tomato of the season. I hope the wind and rain doesn't make it fall off. It's supposed to storm again on Monday and Tuesday. One small tomato ( photo / image / picture from dooley's Garden ) dooley
Gosh Dooley you're way ahead of me!! I've only just planted my first tomato seeds so won't be seeing any fruit for ages yet.
Gosh Dooley, You are way ahead of the rest of us. What variety is it? Congratulations, too. I hope it doesn't get battered by the wind and rain and fall off, either.
Thats great Dooley! Mine are almost at bloom stage but I was late in getting mine out. (knocks on wood) Everything is doing well so far this year.
Goodness...I'm like everyone else...way behind..I think the fact that i didn't know what the weather was doing this year...put me way behind...when in fact i could have started it in January...lol Way to Go Dooley!!!!
That's great Dooley! I hope you are able to eat that tomato before too long. I think it will be a while for me ... it's snowing here this morning
I had to polish off my eyeballs and look twice at that! You are so far ahead of us here. I just planted my toms this morning...we still have freezing weather here with snow and sub-freezing tems forcast for the coming week. Burrrrr. How nice to see your toms doing so well.
I really took a big chance on putting them out so early. I worried about them every night. If I was still in Wisconsin I wouldn't be putting them out until the end of May though my son tells me they are having weather in the 70's now. dooley
That is wonderful Dooley, Mine are ready to plant but with all the crazy temp swings we been having I have been waiting we may have frost again tomorrow. Congrats.
Mine are all blooming now and I have about 20 tomatoes. I planted mine really early this season. Tomato Chello ( photo / image / picture from rick162iq's Garden ) Yellow Pear Tomato ( photo / image / picture from rick162iq's Garden )
Dooley, Texans just have to be the biggest and the best, right? LOL My several tomato plants are about 1 to 2 inches tall, and still under the gro-light, but I am very hopeful. Rick, is that netting around your tomato plants? Is it to keep moths and birds away?
I live off Hwy. 75 just north of Madisonville. That's off Interstate 45 between Dallas and Huntsville. I planted my tomatoes out the beginning of March. I bought them various places in February and they were getting leggy. dooley
