My Asiatic lillys grow to about 5 to 6 ft. high, so I use tomato cages to hold them up. Got all of the cages set up today and got the small sticks picked up from the last storm we had. Also got the dandelions sprayed. So got quite a bit of work done today.

Snow is predicted for here tomorrow so we've been busy trying to get as much cleared up as possible in the garden before it arrives. Let's just hope the weathermen have got it wrong. Glad you're weather allowed you to get plenty done CK.

In a normal year, I wouldn't have to cage the lillys until mid May or late May. That's how far ahead of normal everything is.

The word NORMAL just doesn't describe so many places weather this winter season and spring. I am just hoping we don't get snow in September for a pay back.

I also going to stake my Asian. Got those green hoops from Garden Supply.com few years ago. And will tie up peonies. I'm stiff this am. But so nice yesterday. Fill a dozen containers with soil. Radish just poking through.

Cherylad, I planted them! :) I bought a bag of 24 mixed bulbs at a discount store, years ago. Probably paid about $@ for them. Of course most of them were orange but still got some pink, yellow and deep red too.

It was in the 70's last week, here in NJ. Now it's turned cold, windy & rainy. I did manage to get all the winter debris out of all my flowerbeds & make room for a bunch of new flowering plants I ordered. I still have to dig up an area on my side-yard where I plan to start a cottage garden. Still lots of time, though, as i'm retired & now have the luxury of lots of free time on my hands!

I use to have some years ago but growing in the shade they eventually 'disappeared'. Maybe I should try again since the neighbors have cut down several trees and parts of the yard now get sun. More flower space as the mushrooms will be moving. :)

I have lots of Asiatics (haven't seen any poke through the ground yet) but somehow I am having a thing for the Orientals.
I need them to fill up the yard with fragrance.

My moms fiance has some oriental lilies (his mom planted em years ago) that get taller than me, and Im 5'5"! Ive got a pic somewhere of my bf standing next to the tallest.
My asiatics at home grow about 3 or 4 ft. I just tie em to stakes :)
