This was a complete surprise yesterday morning. With my Bearded Iris in full bloom I go out there every morning just to enhale very deeply, the Ligustrum is right next to the Iris and they are both in full fragrant bloom!!!

This one was a total surprise, I have had this patch of Iris for years and this is the first time this one has shown it's gorgeous face.

I have had these Iris for so many years I don't think they were creating cultivars then like they do now so as far as I know there isn't a name for it.

Looks like an Iris named Waterdragon. A nice surprise for a bed that was not active. I think I bought a blue iris for this season but I am still weeks away from seeing it bloom.

    Good grief,Toni--That is remarkable!
I really do wonder what its name is now.....(if it has one).

    Eileen---my sentiments exactly.

Yes, WOW Toni, That is a beauty.

Are you sharing this mostly foliage for forever plant, cuz I am sure there is someone else wanting to nurture this for several years now, after seeing this bloom. Did you happen to toss some fertilizer on it or threaten it somehow?

Truly, this was worth the wait to see what it was. Thanks for sharing it.
