looking good . . . never tried pinto beans before, or even heard of them for that matter. had some belottti beans in this year but left them behind when i moved. :-D

Pinto beans are so inexpensive here in the Southwest that I've never bothered to grow them. Years ago, my elderly neighbors and gardening mentor, used to grow them for green beans. She planted beans that she bought from the local grocery store. It used to amaze me that I'd buy "proper" green bean seed and my harvest was never up to hers. It didn't enter my mind thirty years ago that she got a better harvest because she planted beans that did well in our desert climate. Makes me laugh now to thing about that.
