Having the house cleaning business. Customer give me flowers also. Can't say No. I help 2 of them garden. Infact DH got 500 landscaping blocks. And had to go back for 20 more bags of mulch.Glad Youngest Son was there to help unload.
I just "had" to stop at an Amish farm this morning. Three plants jump into my car. Hens and chicks, spurge, and a bear's breeches plant. The sign said Perennials for sale. Don
I have today off. Customer canceled-girls have the flu. But I didn't hear car pull in-orphan day lilys left at door.Have no idea where they came from.Go play in the (MUD)
ok so I made the mistake of visiting some garden centers around here.... 3 Cotoneasters (3 for $10!), Lantana, Cucumber, Watermelon, Brussels Sprouts, Apple Mint, Basil, annual Asters and Zinnia ( photo / image / picture from TheBip's Garden ) Got these about a week ago. Romaine lettuce ( photo / image / picture from TheBip's Garden ) And these- Broccoli and Catnip. I think the fresh catnip smell is too much for Beej cause he attacks me when I try to give him a leaf lol. Guess Ill have to dry it out first ( photo / image / picture from TheBip's Garden )
Our nursery around here have not any flowers yet. Do have kohl rabi planted and radish. Got many zinnias to direct seed . If dry enough some snow peas to seed.
Flowers didn't jump in my cart, but they snuck into my car! We went to a friend's home who innocently said he had too many old-fashioned petunias (the scented kind that self-seed) and bachelor buttons coming up and he'd like to give me some. Okay! Well, I came home with those, and lantana, and umbrella plant (have no idea what it is but it's cute), a tall yellow daisy, sedums, sweet potato vine, and ice plant. Now, these were not a cutting or two, or a handful. He used a shovel and I came home with armloads of plants. If this place doesn't start looking good, it won't be his fault!
I made the one post customer gave us those blocks. Dh went and got them for her. But did have customer many years ago-gave me two loads of limestone blocks-three foot long. Stacked them up around compost. And double as flood wall But Went open house of new owners of green house. Dh went with me. Like a kid in the candy store. + Dh getting veggy plants. Now to warm up.
Okay, thanks for your help. I get it now. Let me try it on for size. "Okay, Sweetheart, I know I said $25.00 for that front flower bed but those daisies just jumped into my cart. You know how my knees have been acting up. I couldn't limp my way back across the whole length of the Home Depot to put them back." Hmmm. Sounds good to me.
Yes. It happens. They dutifully hide in the trunk of the car for the ride home and then magically find their way to that perfect spot in the garden that looked void until their presence made it whole. When R asks "Is that a new plant?" I giggle to myself and think, define new.
Dh just bought new BOW. And motor for boat and new pickup. He doesn't say a word. But one of my customer told me to go pick out flowers.Wife was sick went and checked on her for a week.Didn't take any $ we are friends. They own a grocery store.Going on vacation. Take care of their cat.Kid 2 blocks away-can't do it.
Normally no. But when we go out of town to new nurseries that offer different plants than our own, they seem to fly into my cart.
My boss sent me to Home Depot for something... I ended up in the plants... A Mandevilla and a Hosta jumped into my cart...Last week it was 3 Heuchera... more Hostas... I'm clearly an addict...
