This plant has grown in the garden for a few years. At first I thought it was a hollyhock, and pulled the leaves but it grew back again and again.

Pretty sure it's a Alcea rosea - Hollyhock but I don't know which cultivar. I have one with leaves just like it that has been growing in the north bed for years....it's never bloomed but it keeps growing.

So perhaps my first guess was right. I've never had hollyhocks that grow back year after year without any form of seeding. I thought they were biennials and died off after the second year, especially in my part of Canada.

I had several hollyhocks at my old house that bloomed every year. There were very pretty. I know some of the newer ones bloom every other year. Maybe you should give them a chance to grow and see what you get.

I think it's a Hollyhock too. I've noticed that the ones that don't bloom and have been eaten by bunnies etc come back year after year until they are finally able to flower. Weird or what?

This is interesting. I've been pulling the leaves off this one for a couple of years so perhaps that is why it is still growing.
I'm going to let it grow this year and see if it does bloom.

I've had some for about four years now. I even transplanted a couple last year and they bloomed even better in their new location...yep they are back this year. Our really cold weather had a good covering of snow to protect them.
