The day was pleasant, so while doing some work at home on the computer, I had the door open. Why is that bird making so much noise? So I look up... and here's what I saw. A new family has moved into the birdhouse at the top of the porch brace/under the overhang (I think I heard little baby chirps too!) a new family moves in ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) And when I saw the other yellow water lily blooming... and the Papyrus doing so well... I dunno... it made me think of being in the tropics. Yellow Water Lily ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden )
I enjoyed seeing these pics. The little chirps coming from inside the nest box must have been music to your ears. I get that "Tropical feeling" too when I see that lily foto. Those water lilies are such attractive and exotic-looking, I find. Things are looking good there.
That's great! There are tons of birds nests around my house this year. It's taken almost 8 years to get the birds back after the neighbor removed all his trees (hedgerows).
Well, honey, that little pink thing in the pot is a "yardart bird". They pop up around here this time of year. In fact, there's a boy scout troup raising money by bringing flocks of them into yards, and then charging to remove them!
Well, now, That sounds like fun to me..... It's a very cute interesting little thing. I would certainly let them charge me for something, just to donate, but not to take that little cutie away. I would want to keep it. Barb in Pa.
Thanks everybody. Barb... the little decoration is a pink flamingo.... complete with surf board and flip flops. pink flamingo with papyrus ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden )
He is cute. I love him. My hubby would hate him. When I first got married there were flamingos in my bathroom. My hubby didn't like having them watch him while taking a shower. They were banished from that room and weren't even allow to live in the yard. Now I tease him with yard flamingos like yours. Barb in Pa.
Barb... I have a friend that is TOTALLY into pink flamingos. She has them everywhere... inside and out. I think they're cute... in small doses! LOL And on occasion, we do get to see a few real live pink flamingos hanging out. Now THOSE are special!
One of my friends has a glassed in place attached to her home in Illinois. She kept a few flamingo in there..with waterfall and little brook and pond. That was awesome to watch. It was all glass. I love the silly non tropical ones also. Barb in Pa.
Are you quite certain you don't live in the Tropics? It certainly looks that way to my untrained eye! ;-) Congrats on the bird family. I hope they keep your garden free of bugs.
