cabin ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) I made my first trip of the season up to the cabin this week. Spring is really late so I got to see some of my favorite wild flowers. Here are two that I want to transplant into my yard. Guess I will try and get seeds this year...again. I seem to miss the timing on these two every year. lupine blooms ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) small variety of native lupines ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) bear grass (xerophyllum tenax) ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) bear grass bloom ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) The weather was wonderful and it is always relaxing to get away from town. I had to bring home more ferns that had sprouted in the little cleared area in front of hte cabin. Another 6 pots of ferns to find new homes for. Here is another wild flower that I want to bring home, but haven't a place for yet. It is doing very well in a large container by the back door of the cabin. Achlys triphylla (Vanilla-leaf deer foot) ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden ) The cabin is so much in the trees that it is always dark. Had to make a quick trip up to the lake. Snow is still fresh on the mountains. No water worries this year. Lake Cushman ( photo / image / picture from Jewell's Garden )
Beautiful scenery, plants and cabin. We are having opposite seasons ... spring was early and we are having a drought already.
