I have been told that I need to post more photos. Rather than incur the wrath of fellow stewbies, here are a few of the farm and critters:

This is the path through the back yard to the workshop and barn.

My husband's workshop, and farther on the barn where the ladies live.

This is the outside coop, or playground al fresco, as the ladies like to consider it.

This is the small herb garden just outside the kitchen door.

Rise 'n Shine, face to face ( photo / image / picture from marlingardener's Garden ) This is a Rise 'n Shine rose outside the workshop door. Guys like pretty things, too!

Crossvine (Auisostichus careolata) ( photo / image / picture from marlingardener's Garden )
I planted a Crossvine on the wire fence. Not my best idea, since I've had to mow around it for four years!

And this is my view from my kitchen window (and the patio, too.) Hope you like Red Gate Farm!

You're so lucky to live in such a lovely place. I probably wouldn't even get out of the kitchen with that view. :D Your ladies certainly look happy, and that small herb garden of yours... Have you got a big one too I wonder?

You've made a lovely place to call home.
Chickens fascinate me, we can not have them in my city. They all seem to be the same breed, was there a reason you chose that particular one?

Y'all are so complimentary! We love our little farm.
Cayuga, I have a dishwasher (thank heavens!), but while washing veggies or canning, I take advantage of the view out the kitchen window.
Droopy, the big herb garden is at the side of the workshop and has the herbs I dry, or use to make herbal vinegars. The little one has the herbs I use the most in the kitchen.
Cuatro-gatos, the hens are Black Australorps, a cross between an Australian breed and Buff Orpintons. They were chosen because they can stand our heat, and they are great layers. We have 10 hens and get 5-7 eggs a day. The four older girls don't lay as often, but I love them anyway!
Cheryl, I'll take the camera out soon and take more photos. Right now I'm in the middle of bread baking for a church sale, and canning tomatoes. Retirement, hah! :D

Thank you for posting the Red Gate Farm pictures, now we can better understand the posts as you mention parts of the farm. Was Miss Moneypenny in the group photo of the Ladies?

Yes Jerry, the three hens on the right of the photo, Miss MoneyPenny is the one looking away from the camera. She isn't shy, just has an attitude!
Theodoros, thank you for the kind words.

I love your farm. It's beautiful country. I've been looking at my map and one of these days we will come and see it in person. We just never seem to have time to do all the things we want to do. Retired? What's that?
