Wild flowers and weeds can be pretty too. We walked out into the field and gathered several five gallon buckets of Queen Anns Lace, thistle, and whatever the smaller white weed/flower is called, and combined them with antique crocks to make center pieces for all the tables at my daughters wedding. What an attractive arrangement - just as good as any cultivated flowers bought from shops. I have a dedicated area in the back garden especially for wild flowers. Many folks would call them weeds but they really can be very pretty. They also attract lots of insects that, in turn, attract birds and small mammals plus of course amphibians. Wild flowers meadows are becoming so scarce these days that I think we gardeners should do our bit in giving these plants some space on our land. The bees and butterflies will be grateful if you do.
Very pretty! I remember doing that for someones wedding years ago. The kids were sent out to gather the flowers and the adults arranged them Even now I have a vase full of yarrow flowers (my bf considers them weeds :/)
That's a lovely arrangement. We also had wildflowers as decorations when we got married. Nice to see you again, GDC.
That looks great! I love wildflowers and have been known to move a weed into a protected because I like its flowers!
