I ate my first ripe tomato off the vine this morning. Picked my first green beans ( dinner tonight). And got some more pretty flower pics.

So, that first tomato didn't make it to the house? Good for you--enjoy your harvest!
The flowers are lovely. Please post a photo of the morning glory umbrella when it's blooming--I've never seen one before.

    I love your 4 o'clock.
I've trying getting some to start from seed the last two years... they just won't germinate for me.

Lovely blooms. :D That morning glory umbrella looks exciting, and I too want to see it when it's in bloom.

Its just an old umbrella that rotted and I cut the fabric off and strung lines on. The lines are tied to pole barn nails in the soil and the tips of the umbrella frame. I'm thinking it would work quite well for beans or peas also. Or any thing that climbs.

Yes Deanna... I tried that this past winter. Hubby's sister had given me quite a few seeds. I soaked them and then put them in little seed starter pots and put them on heating pads. Not one germinated. :(
The year before, I got some seeds from a plant at the trailer park where I lived. I was so proud of my little sprouts... they even got big enough to put into the ground. But come to find out... it was a darn weed and NOT a 4 o'clock!
My brother still teases me about babying that darn weed!

Nice pics, Donna. I especially liked the Mirabilis. I have some in a pot on the balcony and I hope when they bloom the fragrance will waft in on those sultry summer nights.
That morning glory system that you have rigged looks like it has great potential.

    Hi Donna,
isn't it great satisfaction to eat something you grew,..hope the Tomato was nice and sweet and you also enjoyed your Green Beans.

I have spotted your use of that old umbralla before,..great idea,..and you just gave me an idea to make use of my Umbrella Type Clothes Line,..your Morning Glory are thriving on your Umbrella,..it will be in bloom soon.
