Everything is looking so good. I can't draw a straight line with a ruler so I never try to make them when I make a new bed, curves are so much easier to create. Your mystery plant in photo #9 looks like my Dianella tasmanica 'Variegata' (Variegated Flax Lily)
thanks toni . . i did that line twice too :-? thanks for the i.d also. all im missing is my greenhouse, which i need to dismantle at my dads and transport here and i'll be cooking on gas!! :-D
Luke, Everything looks great. I think your grass is a variegated liriope. not positive, though. Have you seen this bloom by any chance? if it is one, it should be a purple muscari looking bloom.
I could never cut straight line beds Luke so I plumped for curved. I have to admit that I much prefer them to straight edges any day as they're so much easier to cope with. You have a wonderful selection of plants but I'd get rid of that bramble unless you want it to take over your garden. My neighbour has one and I'm forever cutting it back as it's so invasive and keeps trying to take over my back garden.
So nice to see that you and your plants are getting settled into the new place. You've got a great start. And I still love the look of your fence/wall!
hi carolyn . . haven't seen it bloom yet, only got them a few week ago from my sister. it does look like a liriope. . hi eileen . . the bramble has had a good soaking with glyphosate . .hence the half dead . . hope it kills it off thanks kay . . i think you and carolyn could be right with the i.d . . i'll have to keep my eye on it. thanks cheryl. . well and truly settled now and loving the garden :-D
Lovely! Give a few months. When they will be all bloom and leafier, I bet you will have quite a display there!
Luke, Your garden looks like it is going to be great! Beautiful grass, losts of plants ready to go, nice borders!
thanks oubee, cayuga, donna s, donna nc and phillip. im really pleased to get some positive feedback from you all :-D donna in nc - i think i bought the hosta seeds from thompson & morgan. their online if you care to take a look. its my first time growing them and only have the one from seed, the rest came from my mums garden. does anyone know if you can get seed from hosta when their done flowering??? :-D
i suppose thats a stupid question really isn't it . . the seeds have to come from somewhere now don't they :-? :-?
