What beautiful flowers! I wonder if the Mexican hydrangea could survive here--I'll have to look into that. Glad you are feeling better, and I hope you keep on mending.
Hi Jane, I'm sure it would as I brought mine home from Florida. They can take over as they spead alot.
I have the Clerodendrum bungei (mexican Hydrangea) and it practically takes care of itself. It dies back in the winter, but pops right back up.
Your Hydrangea are beautiful, and so is that morning glory! I'd love a few close-ups of the gourds, pretty please?
Lovely Hydrangeas! My C. bungei kinda died. TOO COLD in winter? Last summer I had runners coming up 1-2 meters from the mother plant. I was worried it would take over that corner. Now... bare stems, no signs of life!
Donna, I love your hydrangea and I am envious of your birdhouse gourds, I want to grow some on the back of the dog's chain link fence -can I get seeds from a gourd I'd find at the farmer's market? I've seen some lovely craft projects made from gourds.
Gourds are just babies Droppy, but will post pics along the way. CrisGzr, Don't know about seeds from market. It would be worth a shot. I planted 6 seeds will have plenty of gourds of critters leave them alone. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )
When I delivered meal on wheels, a very elderly lady told me that gourds would grow on anything that stands still long enough. She said she preferred telephone poles. When I asked where to get seeds, she said "from gourds, what's wrong with you? where do you think they come from?" I laughed for days. I do have a few telephone poles behind the house and I want to plant some in her memory! nice picture! how long are they?
My goodness, Donna--those pics sure to have a lot of colour. I really enjoyed seeing them. It looks like those gourds are doing quite well too. I wish I could grow them here.
Beautiful colour on that,.. Picotee red morning glory,..and you have a great display of Hydrangea,..i am hoping to change the colour of one of mine to blue this season. Love those Gourds.
