Here are some of the welcome to spring flowers I enjoyed a few months ago! I left out the daffodils and azaleas, I have too many varieties -they need their own post someday!

    1. violets, they are everywhere but the ones in the woods seem more rarified ( photo / image / picture from CrisGzr's Garden )

    2. Grape Hyacinths, the ones down by the stream are a thick carpet ( photo / image / picture from CrisGzr's Garden )

    3. Poeticus Daffodils, not sure this is correct ( photo / image / picture from CrisGzr's Garden )

    4. Lily of the Valley, these really multiply ( photo / image / picture from CrisGzr's Garden )

    5. red columbine, they look so unusual ( photo / image / picture from CrisGzr's Garden )

    6. A Poeticus Daffodil, it seems smaller than ones I see in catalogues, I might be wrong here ( photo / image / picture from CrisGzr's Garden )

    7. White Dogwood, I love how they look like they are floating ( photo / image / picture from CrisGzr's Garden )

    8. Iris with white azaleas in background, this is the only iris that blooms of about 30 or so. I am moving them to a sunny area ( photo / image / picture from CrisGzr's Garden )

    9. a winter green flower? not sure ( photo / image / picture from CrisGzr's Garden )

    10. Close up of #9 I knew what this was when I looked it up but I can't find where I wrote it down! ( photo / image / picture from CrisGzr's Garden )

    Oh, sorry Sjoerd!
I knew I forgot something, these were taken a few months ago but since I just joined and it's when my garden is the best, I thought i'd share

-we are in hot, humid, rainy days now!

Nice flower pix Cris, I like the columbine, I will have to put it on my 'to get' list.
We enjoy flowers anytime, no matter when you take the picture.

Your spring blooms look so fresh. :stew2: I particularly like the dogwood photo. It looks like two clouds of butterflies.

Thank you Jerry, I also use my photos in illustrations and web design but I tend to get lost in a series, it's like going on a mini vacation to a particular spring. This year as others in the south might agree, we never really had a winter, a lot of hard freezes that hurt a lot of blooms. Instead of weeks of a bloom we had one or two good days.

Droopy, I agree! Dogwood blossoms look so magical to me, we also have a tree that makes fuschia pink blossoms, which I learned you can eat! they are wonderful like a cucumber-citrus. I think it is redbush. The start as invasive weeds and if they are allowed grow into thick trunked trees! I will post a picture and a meal!
