The wren discovered a bird house that I had quickly moved and started to make a nest in it right away. A couple more photos on my blog here http://craftygardener.blogspot.ca/2012/06/cheep-wren-t.html
I would love to have wrens in my yard! We had them in the yard as kids and I thought they were so cute with that little up-turned tail :-o As much as I'd love to see them again I know that can't happen with all the cats :-?
We have wrens in our garden but I've never seen them utilise anything I have to nest in. I hope yours raises a family and that they all survive.
I hope they nest in the house as well. In previous years the wrens seem to build a nest in the house, then flit to another house etc. I've never seen babies, so hopefully this will be the year.
My mom used to have wrens nest in a huge hanging basket of airplane plant. Not more than 10 ft. from the back door. Loud little birds.
Wrens are the cutest birds. We've got them around here but I don't think they're nesting nearby. Good luck with your wren family.
It really isn't high at all, just above my head. I didn't intend to leave it there but wanted a higher and a bit more secluded position. But I got busy doing other things, and then the wren discovered it and started using it. Hopefully it isn't too low. It is also fairly close to a path so we'll see if she continues to use it.
