Okay, supper is at your place tonight!! Those look delicious. I tried growing them in containers last year but with the heat and drought I couldn't keep them going. I might try again next year.
lukeypukey, Looks like that happened all in one day.... Going out to see if I have new potatoes in the garden today. Barb in Pa.
can't wait to tuck into them . . . no chance of drought here this year, or heat for that matter. . typical english summer :-? i can't believe how quick they've grown, thought i'd be waiting a few more months yet :-D
Once you dig into those tonight, you will start another planting. Looks good! Better check my bucket. I threw a few small ones in a five gallon bucket after digging the ones in the garden.
wow they were some of the tastiest spuds i've ever had!!! doesn't get much fresher than that . . . the lasagne wasn't bad either :-D :-D
There's nothing like the taste of new potatoes - especialy those grown by your own fair hands. Enjoy!!
Veeeeeeeeeery nice, LP-- You guys are 2-3 weeks ahead of us here, but i dug down and looked at a couple of spuds on the roots of one of my plants and saw some that looked to be just a little bit smaller than yours. I covered them back up and decided to wait another couple of weeks. There are few things that I look forward to in the veg garden...but the first meal of new potatoes is one of them. Well done, mate!
cheers everyone . . . they was scrummy, and im definately growing some more . . can anyone tell me how long the seed potatoes are good for??? i bought 2 varieties 3-4 month ago and only planted the charlottes because we were moving . . . i've had them stored in a cupboard in the shed :-D
lp, even if they get all wrinkly, they can still be viable as seed. you can lay them out in the light and see if the produce eyes/sprouts. what a great harvest, and neat pics!
