We moved to our bungalow 20 years ago and inherited this peony. It did not flower so I have moved it around the garden several times without success. I know when you move them they take a while to flower and that you should not plant them too deep, but I finally put it in a large container and, bingo, look what it has produced this year. Oh my stars, that is gorgeous! We can't do peonies here in central Texas because of the heat, and I do miss them (we had lots of them when we lived in upstate New York). Thank you for sharing, I can almost catch the scent!

Yours are very pretty. Mine bloomed but not as good this year. Had to cut some of them back in mid season. I knew wasn't good for them. They are flat as a pancake now from high winds.
Moving plants So, you move stuff around in the garden, do you? Moving stuff is half the fun of gardening.
Re: Moving plants I do agree blissful, I do a lot of moving around but the peonies do not like being moved so were set back each time.
blissful--I have only recently discovered the value of moving stuff about. In the past, I always knew I should, but never would. Now I do, even though it is no longer spring. I just stick an umbrella over the plant and water well until it settles in. I used to think I had to wait until "the proper season" (ie spring) but of course would have other more pressing things to do then & would never get to it. This year I have been moving all kinds of stuff about!
