Peruvian Daffodils

The Peruvian Daffodils are starting to bloom.

Yes Crafty.... I was so furious! I'd been waiting and waiting and saw one evening that they were just opening. The next day when I got home from work... I anxiously grabbed my camera and went out to see them. But... "chomped up stems" were all that was left.
:'(

 

Let's hope you are luckier next year.

 

The petals of the blooms are naturally like that.

 

I thought the same thing... actually it reminded me of frayed fabric.

 

I knew a man who had a few Peruvian Daffodils. He would plant his bulbs a few weeks apart so they did not all flower at once.

 

What lovely Daffs, these had the name ‘four o’ clock’.

Peruvian Daffodils

Odd name as they are only distantly related to Narcissus and they do not come from Peru.

 

@Palustris, When the man told me about his Peruvian Daffodils, I did not even consider the name Peru.
