Was outside waiting to see if I could see any fireworks on this 4th of July Eve and saw something even better.... the full moon!
I know the photo isn't very good since I just have my trusty ol' point & shoot.... but at least you can tell it's the moon (hopefully).

Yep! I saw it, too, as we were waiting on the fireworks to begin. Ours was orange with a cloudy haze around it. It was beautiful.

For those of us who missed it last night, like me, you can still catch it tonight and tomorrow night. The moon stays full for about three nights then begins to wane.

I try to see the moon as often as possible.

Every now and then, and very carefully, I'll get a quick glimpse of the sun.

And look for Scorpio, you are looking toward the center of the Milky Way.

My favorite moon sighting is the new moon, low in the west.

And I would hope that anyone looking up into a clear night sky, would ponder.

Just think 25 years ago people were walking in the moon. I wonder when we will do it again. I think we need one of these challenges like Mars in 15 years.
Build a space ship in orbit to go to Mars and back.

    Space. The final frontier.
Still so much "unknown" that all we can do is ponder.

Ahh, few of you commented on the pic which I think is brillantly shot with the full moon and the canna swaying in the foreground!
