I'm glad I don't have dialup anymore. I can see all of the pictures. They are beautiful. I have some very young, small crape myrtle that are starting to bloom this year. I hope they come out as great as yours. dooley
All is just so lovely but I can pick my favourite... caladium and coleus. Did you grow the coleus from seed, I will have to search for that now...thanks!
Thanks for sharing all the joy. I love the crape myrtle. I have about 6. Only one gave me a little spot of flowers last year. I am hoping it will be better this year. But until then if they don't bloom I will drive around and see everyone's blooming around town or go to my favorite STEWIE place and enjoy all my on line friends, myrtles, like yours. I love them so much I could eat them. :-D :-D Barb in Pa.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. It is my own little "paradise". Chocolate - I got the Coleus from a co-worker. She just cut off some leaves from her plant, I put them in water and they quickly put on roots. I can send you the complete Latin name of it when I get home this evening if you like it. The Crape Myrtles are doing pretty good this year. I have one that has 3 different colors grafted together - Pink, Purple and "reddish". The reddish didn't bloom this year. But the other red one took up the slack. It's only a few years old and is still pretty small, but it had lots of blooms this year. I also noticed while scrolling through the post, I need to fill this in with the missing alphabets.... Hmmm.... what do I have that starts with A, I, J, etc...
Oh, my I am in awe of everything! I love your 'little touches!" like the bamboo solar light contraption -I am borrowing that idea. I also love the way you created the tower of tipped pots... you are so clever and talented!
Cris... that contraption started off as a cheap stand, light and hangers from a dollar store. It was so flimsy! And the solar that came with it was a joke! So.... I just beefed it up (and covered it up) and put a "real" light in it's place. At least the hangers were well-made. Looks like I need to replace that rope, huh? And I've been meaning to do something to hide that big ugly black pot. I guess now is a good time before the Cosmos get tall again. And the Tipsy Pots are so easy. Last year, we had a "Tipsy Challenge" and a lot of members made them - and no two looked alike. Just do a search for "Tipsy".
Oh, I'm going to look up the tipsy challenge! Is there a challenge this year? I love those cheap solar lights. I took the caps off the posts on my 6 foot chain link fence for the dog's gulag and popped one in each and it makes for a nice glowing perimeter... can't really see anything but DH thinks it might help burglars navigate their escape! <sigh!>
Cris.... Why don't you start off the 2012 Tipsy Challenge? Donna... Thank you so much. It's starting to take shape. I wanted to get some "overall" photos.... but the shadows were too harsh. Guess I need an overcast day soon.
