The Insane Neighbour

That's me, or at least that's what my very best next-door neighbour calls me. Just because I made this:

Thanks to the Stewbies who posted this idea! I placed it in the Walls of Jericho step III border, not too far from my husband's latest water feature, the hanging-in-loose-air-tap:

This area is now nicknamed "The Impossible Corner", because those two features look rather weird at first sight.

I ought to edit holiday photos, tidy up the house, weed borders and cut back shrubs and trees, but I don't quite feel like it, so I elected to have some fun instead. I'll continue with the serious stuff tomorrow. Maybe.

 

Gee, if you can't have fun in a garden, where can you have fun? I love your tipsy planter, and the "water feature" also.
Gardeners shouldn't take gardening too seriously!

 

Thanks eileen. I don't find anything wrong with it at all. Hubby's already planning a new feature in the graveled patch, but that's nothing spectacular, only unusual.

You're absolutely right, marlingardener! A garden ought to reflect the people creating it, and we love to have fun.

I like your choice of pots! I prefer the wider clay pots but have a hard time finding them :-?

 

There is nothing like an eye catching features to generate comments. Great ideas!!

Thank you CrisGzr. We are very pleased with how it turned out.

You and me alike, stratsmom! I looked everywhere for plain terracotta pots, and finally managed to find the three bottom ones, but had to drill an extra hole in all of them. Pots like that used to have either three or four drainage holes. Now they have one, in the middle. :-? I wanted one more pot, between the third and fourth one, but couldn't find the right size. *sigh*

Jerry, you're so right. The water feature's visible from the road, and you can glimpse the tipsy planter too, if you pass by slowly.

 

I suppose coming from Britain with its history of eccentricity, I find nothing odd at all about the things is your garden. I mean Why not?

 

I think your Tipsy looks awesome.... and putting it near the water tap was a great idea. Insane is a good thing sometimes.

Annette, my neighbour could have made a great carreer in the military. She wants everything in straight lines, cut in shape and no mess anywhere. If one of her plants tend to bend a little she's there with a stake, and woe betide if the plant flops! It usually ends up in my garden then. And as soon as her summer blooms start dropping petals, they're off the porch and into the compost bin faster than you can say "GardenStew". But she's the nicest neighbour one could ask for, and takes excellent care of our cats too.

 

I like them both and would put them anywhere in my gardens...great ideas.
