We are having the roof of our cottage replaced at the moment and the place is a real shambles.
This poem made me laugh as it's exactly the kind of thing I'm doing right now.

I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'

He told me to get off my butt,
    And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
    The smudges off my mouse.

I wiped and shined the topside.
    That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my good work.
    I didn't mean to 'click.'

But click, I did, and oops - I found
    A real absorbing site
That I got SO way into it -
I was into it all night.

So nothing's changed except my mouse.
It's as shiny as the sun.
I guess my house will stay a mess.....
While I sit here on my bum.

(of course the real absorbing site is GardenStew!!)

Computers can be addictive (not that I would know from experience!). However, having a clean house is the sure sign that your life needs excitement. Dusting vs. weeding--I'll take weeding any time! :)

    What a cute poem Eileen.
It's hard to keep a clean house whilst work is being done.
I have lots of dust here, some because of the trim work Bob is doing in the basement, and some because of how parched and dry it is outside.
    Not to worry :p

This sign hangs on my door.

    Apology
Although you'll find our house a mess,
    Come in-sit down-converse.
It doesn't always look like this:
    Some days it's even worse.

I have a sign that says --If you you write your name in dust please don't date it. But just tore up floor in this room. That was easy part. Moving all the heavy furniture to other area -of a small house. Now that project is done. Getting ready to have 2 tree taken down. Had to remove privacy fence.Trees still there. But just measured other part of roof. And getting shinges today.

Hahaha, all the above applies here.Dust from graveled road & wood stove in Winter.I find my computer totally absorbing.Google is my buddy. Also have accumulated too much stuff for small house. It won't say "she was a he--uva
housekeeper on my tombstone. Then again maybe it will.
Got a good laugh out of Eileens poem & the other sayings. I have a little sign on my refrigerator that says"My other house is cleaner."
I still maintain I'm not really lazy. I just have my priorities. My husband seems happy . LOL

Had a lady ask me if my house was dirty. I have a house cleaning business. She said most are that do that for a living. I showed her pictures of flower beds-I just HAPPEN to have in purse. In summer time it get's dusty-also gravel road and pets hair. But rather dig in dirt in summer. Have all winter to clean.

    :D Good one, Eileen! :D

When the weather's good, the house is a mess. When the weather's bad, the house is still rather messy. :D We're constantly moving things about, and it doesn't make for a tidy, clean home.

My sign says: "My house was clean yesterday. I'm sorry you missed it."
