And I've got photos to prove it. Most of the flowers below are spent now. Some couldn't take the sudden heat, others couldn't take rain, but they were pretty while they lasted: Paeonia lactiflora 'Duchesse de Nemours' ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Lily "Zalumballe" ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Lily "Sorbet" ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Lily "Teutas Fronte" ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Lily "Dove of Peace" ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Lily "Ilga" ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Lilium pardalinum - Panther lily ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) The late Iris didn't look too bad: Iris ensata ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Iris hollandica ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Iris sibirica ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) This Corydalys blooms for a very long time, and it's got a lovely scent too: Corydalis elata ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) We've got very small and very tall Campanula: Campanula cochleariifolia var. alba ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Campanula persicifolia double white ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Campanula persicifolia ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) I had to photograph the mint. It's sooo tiny, and the conclusion is that I love my camera. Mentha requienii - Corsican mint ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) The bees are busy: Centaurea macrocephala ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Knautia macedonica ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Calendula ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Astrantia major ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Hemerocallis ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) At the moment our garden isn't looking very good. The rain's not helping. Centaurea macrocephala with bumble bee ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden )
So many wonderful flowers and, oh, so beautiful!! Most of mine have been flattened by the torrential rain we've been having so it's lovely to see that you've had such variety and colour in your garden. Your post certainly put a smile on my face when I saw it. Many thanks. :-D
Wow,what beautiful lilies. Do have as beautiful a scent? What camera do you have?(one of my other hobbies is photography)
Did you get a new camera Droopy? I must say you spoil us, first taking us along on your vacation and then taking us around your witness your amazing blooms!
eileen, thank you. We've had hard rain too, which is why I'm outside all day when it's not raining. Some of our blooms have been a sorry sight. The hostas are the only ones that have been doing fairly well. They like the cloudy, wet and rather chilly weather. Kiasmum, these are Asiatic lilies, and haven't got much scent. The orientals are starting now, and they've got divine scent, but maybe a bit too strong for indoors. My camera is a small pocket camera, a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX9, but it's so much better than my old one who gave up the ghost late last autumn. I got this for Christmas and is still sorting out the functions. I can be so slow sometimes. Thanks Frank, for thinking that I spoil you. CM, Netty and Donna, thank you very much for liking our blooms. I still have hopes for the autumn bloomers. Some are actually very nice.
Gorgeous blooms. Glad you're getting the hang of your new camera, because those are some wonderful photos. Naturally, I totally love all the of the lilies!
Your garden is another one I drool excessively over....and I forgot to grab a towel before I started enjoying the photos. Everything was beautiful, hopefully gardening weather next year will be better for all of us.
Thank you very much, Cheryl. Toni, I've found that having a bib close at hand has saved many a keyboard. Thanks Jerry. We've got lots more lilies, but some of them looked so ragged due to the weather. I just didn't want to show them.
Beautiful flowers, Droopy, especially considering your weather conditions there this season.. From what I can see, your camera is working great.. Hank
Beautiful display of blooms,..i would hate to try list my favorites,..and your new camera,..congrats,..its a winner,..similar to mine except mine is DSC-W55 and yours is DSC-WX9,..once again fantastic blooms.
Thanks for sharing. All very pretty. Wish you was closer to give me taking picture lessons+ growing flowers. And drooled over key board also
