Frank, That is very cute and sad, at the same time. I raised a duck once but she got to go swimming every day and hunted for fish on her own. Her name was Duckie Duddles. Barb in Pa.
That is really cute. Such a shame they were treated like that by the hoarder and never given a chance to swim, they certainly didn't appear to like it at first.
I am glad the ducks were rescued. I had ducks for awhile when my kids were growing up. One pair was named Quackie and Quackers. Something got Quackers and we found Quackie so sad and dragging her wings. She was ready to be eaten too. I had them in the bathtub before I put them outdoors at my pond. That is when something got Quackers. Then I put Quackie back in the bathtub until I figured out a solution. Some friends suggested putting her in with one of our rabbits. His name was Roger Rabbit. They were fast buddies, and lived together the rest of their days. It wasnt quite ideal, but at least they were not lonely. Roger Rabbit used to help egg-sit trying to hatch out the babies. He was very patient and good. However, we had to remove the egg/s every few days so they would not get too rotten. Later we had other ducks, and they lived with our chickens, or nested in the field. I don't know if they went to the pond or not. Maybe next time I will get them a wading pool, since there is no protection for them at my pond in the woods.

Interesting that they did not want to enter the water at first until you think about their natural first experience following their mother. A nice rescue story. Jerry
Thanks for pointing us in that video's direction, Frank. I loved watching it, even the third time! We have seasonal ducks on our pond, during migration. Dabblers and divers--depending on how they fish.
