That is sheer brilliant use of something we all have, save, and wonder what to do with! I have a bunch of sturdy 4" square pots and quite a bit of scrap lumber. I think I'll spot them around the pasture on the fence rows, among the trees, and perhaps even on the side of the barn.
Thank you for a super idea!

I came up with the idea and drew a sketch. I more or less made it, photographed the different parts and had it hung for the final photo in an hour. I perhaps could of found a green pot, maybe next time.

I agree with Jane... brilliant idea! And looks so easy to make.

This must be the high rent district, a clever re-use of a pot. I would be interested in seeing a picture of the first resident.

Kildare, This looks like a great kids hands on project  for my farmers market. If all the pieces are pre cut than it would be a quick "stop and go" project. Thanks!

How cool! I even have some pots like this one.
Only one problem, I am a little "sad&discouraged".
Last summer I spent a lot of time with my younger brother building a cute small birdhouse, all wood, blue walls and red roof.
But so far, I haven't had any birds enquire about the rent.
    :(

These things are fun to see about the garden even if they are not used. Someday some bird will decide its time to give it a go.

I have a variety of pots in the garden that I never thought of using this way. What a good idea Kildale. :-D I guess we'll all be busy erecting these bird 'boxes' come spring. :stew1:

As I mentioned, extra bits and pieces can be added to spruce it up a bit.
