Hi, The first impression is the Chelone obliqua (the leaf is too broad, though); however, that notched lead looks very familiar to me and it could possible be other plants such as, Physostegia virginia (the seeds are not the same) or Solidago altissima (the seed sort are good, but the colour is much lighter than your examples). This last sort looks somewhat possible as well. The seeds that you are showing are typically seeds from that family, the slenderness does indeed make me think of a Tagetes sort in a way....and of course, the Genus Tagates is in the Family Asteraceae. Has this plant ever flowered for you? If so, what does the flower look like? What is the colour? Perhaps you could describe the habit of the flowers. The seeds that you have shown do not really fit in with the plants that I have listed above. The Asteraceae Family is extensive, as you must know...I have the greatest difficulty in placing a definite ID on your plant based on the pics of plant and seeds. Seeing the blooms and how their habit is would help enormously. It is nice to see such a challenging posting now and then--it's good for the little grey cells. Good luck with the plant's identity. Keep us posted, please.
This is for an in class project and so far i have found out its not in the genus aster, Tagetes, Helianthus,Eupatorium or Solidago Here is a picture that was just provided http://i49.tinypic.com/2drzxmo.jpg
Are you sure these are the same two plants in these pictures? the leaves in the first post are serrated. The leaves in the 2nd post are not.
I grew the seed that I was provided and that is the picture provided as a clue, could be a another plant but is definitely in the same genus
