I just realized that after y'all helped me name the new hens, I haven't kept you current on how your hens are doing.
All are well and very happy. They have been supplying us with eggs, and with eggs for friends and neighbors. I have had to adjust some of my recipes that call for "an egg" since the ladies specialize in large eggs and some of my cookie doughs were a trifle wet.
The new ladies will eat cooked carrots, the older ones won't. Since they are all of the same size now (LARGE) that makes it easier to tell the age groups apart when they all flock around the treat bowl.
Yesterday I picked up 50# of layer pellets, and 50# of scratch for cold weather. They also have a heat lamp and deep litter in one coop, so if it ever dips below 40 degrees here, we're prepared.
For Christmas they asked for a jacuzzi and a large-screen TV, but they are getting a bowl of cooked rice--their favorite treat. I don't mind cleaning out the coop, but I'll be darned if I'm cleaning a jacuzzi! I imagine there would be chicken fights over the remote control for the TV, also.
So, the hens you named are doing well and enjoying life. When we refresh the flock next spring (we add chickens, never subtract them which is why we have two age groups) I'll ask you for help naming them. You may want to start thinking about nice names now. :sete_012:

What no jacuzzi or large screen TV!! How cruel can one get? You could always get them individual boxes with their own TV's (that would stop any arguing about remotes) and employ a jacuzzi cleaner. :p
Thanks for the update and it's good to know that 'our' girls are all doing so well despite the depravation they're suffering due to the lack of luxury items. ;)

Sounds like the hens are pretty happy even without all those luxuries. :-D
