I love Dianthus, there will be more in the garden this year. They stay green year round here and bloom off and on all winter.

I am so tickled to see these buds. I bought the Bombay Eyes Iris last Sept from a grower at the 37 mile long garage sale south of here. I haven't had white Iris blooms before, guess it will be a few more days before I see them.

I have never grown Garlic before but I think these are doing just fine.

And a flash of red in the tree followed by a repeated and repeated tap,tap,tap,tap,tap....etc.

Toni, a great and interesting group, I have just planted my first iris rhizomes, in shades of pink, maroon and white.I hope mine come up looking like yours.
Mine will flower[hopefully] in september which will be our springtime.
I love that little bird, I presume it is a woodpecker of some sort?

I'm going to have to put Dianthus on my wish list.
And I really should grow some garlic since I use so much of it.

It definitely looks like my garden is waking up. All my salvias are putting out new green leaves too.

    These showed up this morning.

I planted the Alyssum seeds three years ago in this pot and the little plant has survived through the ice and snow events we have had in the past 3 winters, there are more buds beginning to open up too....

I am amazed that these came back this year. But there are 7 clumps of them, each having 2-4 buds. I hope there will be several blooming at the same time eventually.

These new additions are good to see. My daffs only have a few points above ground at the moment...that one of yours looks so fresh and nice.
It is encouraging to see yours, its like seeing a preview of what will bloom for me later.

Alyssums blooming at this time of year astounds me.
