and since I don't hang laundry out to dry, it's not those kinds of bloomers. ;)

I found this sitting on the floor of the Kroger flower shop last month, lonely, one last bloom beginning to fade and two bulbs putting out new green growth. This newest and probably last bloom of it's season opened fully today.
And yes the color is that deep purple.

These I planted outside last fall, they started blooming earlier this week and I almost forgot to check on them with camera in hand  They are the same as the other one Iris reticulata 'Harmony' and should be just as purple but outdoors the color isn't as dark.

And the Ranunculus are all blooming brightly.

    Love those colors.
I checked to see when my Iris bloomed last year... the Yellow & White Dutch Iris I got from you were blooming in the first week of March... and my mom's regular ol' purple one's were blooming the first week of April. SOOOO..... I guess mine aren't that late afterall.

I wasn't aware that the term bloomers was used in the States also. Yes Toni you have a fine set of bloomers :)

What magnificent colours, Toni. You've got to be pretty proud of those. Seeing those plants make me feel all "Springy".

What a treat to see so much is flowering for you Toni. I still only have snowdrops and cyclamen in full bloom. However, I do see thst some of my polyanthus are showing colour, I just hope we have no more snow and the temperatures rise so that my daffodils will show their pretty faces.

    Generally not as unmentionables.

    Toni those are beautiful.

No bloomers even close up here. Although I am shocked at my amaryllis. I left it outside in the snow and it was frozen, the ivy in the pot had to be cut since it was rooted into the ground before I could drag it into the basement to thaw a few weeks ago and I see the bulb is growing. Maybe I will get a bloom, too.

Love the iris. Also got some in the garden, still waiting for their blooms.
Ranunculus, hmm, not so much. I see some for sale in pots, they look gorgeous but I still have yet to learn from someone here who can say "I have it in the garden". They seem to be difficult around here.

We used the word bloomers instead of other names for underwear when I was a child all the time. I think it was from reading books of stories from other time periods and our grandmothers called them bloomers so we just picked it up from them.

All are beautiful but I adore the Ranunculus.I grew those a long time ago in my greenhouse.I'm not sure how I'd grow those outdoors here.If I run across a potted one I'm going to spring for it.
