None of my iris are showing yet so it's lovely to see yours in bloom. The katharine hodgkin is unusual and very pretty.
beautiful coloring, Lukey, thanks for sharing it with us! Blooms Once? I just couldn't believe that a flower would only bloom once so I looked it up and I don't see that it only blooms once. So I guess you will have to check back in with us next spring and let us know whether it bloomed again. http://www.rhs.org.uk/Gardens/Wisley/Ab ... e-Hodgkin-
I got the info from a tv programme I'm watching at the minute called the a-z of gardening. It said how the bulb Iris's can struggle to come back each year with flowers, I may get foliage?? This is because their natural habitat (mountains of Turkey and Afghanistan) the heat bakes the bulbs, which I assume is good for them??
Checked your link for my hodgkin, these are one of the few that does come back each year. However my blue iris, which I think is the Reticulata?? Doesn't. I'll watch said programme again and see what it says
