Hello to everyone, I'm so glad I found you. I am semi-retired, and a grandmother to 7 (soon to be 8 ) wonderful grandchildren. I'm owned by two very small chihuahuas who think they're great danes, and I'm a novice gardener. I moved into a new home in November of 2012 and am looking forward to doing some container gardening on the roomy back deck, and to create a pretty front garden in the small front plot. I don't know very much. This site seems very welcoming and informative, so I'm hopeful that, with your help, I'll be able to bring my vague landscaping ideas into being in the not too distant future!
Ronni, we love to help new gardeners (and experienced ones, too!) so ask any questions, pose any ideas, and enjoy your garden conversations here. We also encourage pictures of gardens, chihuahuas, and grandchildren!
Hi there Ronni and a warm welcome to our forums from Scotland in the UK. I look forward to getting to know you. :-D If you can take some photographs of your front garden and back deck it would help us to see what suggestions we can come up with for you.
Thanks for the warm welcome, y'all. :-D Eileen I'd love to post pictures, and in fact was hoping to be able to do just that. I figure a picture is worth a thousand words. I'm still browsing the site and getting familiar with the various forums, so I'm not sure where I should post the pictures. On this thread? Or is there a different forum I should be going to with a new topic?
A warm welcome from the still very cold northwestern coast of Norway. I'm glad you found us. Hop in and make yourself at home. I'm looking forward to stewing with you. P.S. Did anybody mention that we love photos of gardens-to-be, gardens under construction, gardens and plants in general, pets, children, grandchildren... In short everything that can be caught with a camera.
Welcome from Texas! Pictures can be posted just about any forum. Member's Gallery is for pictures. Village Square works if you don't know where else to put it. Garden forums for garden stuff. Any old place you can find to put them. First place, in your garden so they can be inserted into your posts. dooley
Hi Ronni, Welcome to GardenStew from Chelmsford, MA. There are lots of forums with plenty of info. We have gardeners from around the world with answers to most questions, and of course it goes without saying, we are always interested in pictures. Welcome aboard. Jerry
Yeah.... what they said. :-D Plus... welcome from SE Texas. Looking forward to seeing those photos. And there's forums for just about every interest. Just pick one... or two.. and start showing us those photos.
Ok, you asked! I'll post my garden question pictures in some other forum (still trying to figure out which one is most appropriate.) Meanwhile here are a few family things: Me: Two of my granddaughters that live here in Nashville: Making a "potion" on my back deck (the deck is one of the things I need some ideas for....more photos of that later.) My grandson...my only daughter's boy....who loves his Biddy (though he's still trying to pronounce that, so currently I'm Bee) My California granddaughters with my son, who's a Firefighter, and my wonderful daughter in law. My ridiculous rat dogs And a goofy group shot of the 4 of my 5 adult children (the missing one lives in California~~see above) with my daughter's husband and my grandson.
Hi Ronni, Welcome to Garden Stew from Nebraska. It is never too late to get into gardening, and we are all always learning more from each other. Like your pics!
