A "First", a "Mini" and 2 "Newbies& My first Daylily of the year! And there's lots of buds on it. Hi Cheryl,..a nice spring coloured Daylily and i see your miniature rose,..its a beauty,..may it thrive for you,..oh boy you are going to have another big blooming flower with that Newbiscus mauvelus "Pink Dinner Plate",..you aptly named it "Big Pink",..looking forward to seeing it bloom as well as the Hibiscus calyphyllus (Yellow Hibiscus),..they came a very long journey.
Ohhhh! A first......hint, hint. Can I put it in the Baseline Database? Did it flower last year? What makes the nice looking rose a miniature, the plant size or the flower size? Both maybe? I have one rose bush. I have moved it twice and still have not killed it. It doesn't even get bugs, like Japanese beetles. Do you spray for bugs? Jerry
Thanks Philip. I was really happy to have some of them sprout and can't wait until they grow up and bloom so I can tell people that they came from Greece! Jerry... Of course the "Double Down" can be added to the Database. I'm gonna have to remember it as the other Daylilies bloom. And yes it bloomed last year. I'd have to go back through photos to see when. And here's a photo showing the size of the mini-rose. mini rose ( photo / image / picture from cherylad's Garden ) I guess it's a mini because both the plant and the flowers are much smaller than a typical rose. I only spray for bugs when I see them(dishsoap and veggie oil spray). I don't recall having to spray the mini-rose last year.

Great picture Cheryl,..it looks in tip top condition,..yes think about a cutting,..even if you only take a small one and stick it in water until it roots,..the easy way lol,..its always nice to have a duplicate bush just in case of accidents.
