    Your mystery flowers are Impatiens, a very common bedding plant.

    Don't be expecting impatiens this year, though. There is a mildew that is attacking them and not many growers are offering them. If you get some don't be surprised if they quietly whither away.

    Yes, impatiens. I knew they were common, but I just couldn't remember the name. My mother used to plant them out front, along with so many neighbors.

    That's too bad about the mildew. I think they're beautiful.

    You could try New Guinea impatiens, but they aren't quite the same.
