jadenz, everything looks really nice. ..except that first picture you have labeled as blueberries isn't blueberries. they look like black berries to me.

    Thanks Netty and Caroline. :-D

@ Caroline. Yeah they do. Maybe I got the wrong picture and they are the blackberries. Here's a picture I took of the blueberries.

Oh, good. I was hoping you didn't get the wrong plants. Sometimes people have no idea what they are getting in a dormant plant and have a totally wrong fruit labeled as what you were intending to grow. I have seen people take off labels or remove them and not know where they were supposed to go back to and just stick a label in anywhere or a clerk relabels something erroneously.

@ Carolyn. I didn't even think about that. We get a lot of stuff at Farmer Markets so that can happen there too and they don't always know what kinds of stuff they are selling.

My garden project got shelved because of all the t-storms and the huge tornado. It missed us and my plants are still okay but we have been really busy checking on our friends and boxing up food to help out. There's 3 more days of storms after tomorrow but I'm still gonna try to get more pepper plants and some radishes planted. i will post more pictures when I can. :)

Jadenz I am so glad to hear you are okay, how far are you from Norman? That was an incredible devastating storm. I can't fathom the destruction and loss.

I planted a few peppers in containers this year and I can't believe the difference in the growth from them to the ones I planted in the greenhouse soil. they look absolutely pathetic in comparison. I am going to try to winter them over to see if I am can get earlier peppers next year, same thing with my eggplants.

If it is hot there already, skip the radishes. It got down to freezing here one day last week then heated up to over 80 each day....the day after they were frosted/frozen they were good. Now they are like putting fresh cracked pepper on you tongue and swishing it around :smt078 .

I hope the rest of your summer is now quiet from the storms like this week.

Thanks. :) We are very close. We saw the tornado after the sirens went off and it looked like another funnel was trying to start down too. Me and dad got everybody and we went to the basement but it didn't get close enough to damage the house. There's always tornadoes here in the spring but we've never been hit.

You can grow peppers in a window in the winter. :-D I did and they even flowered and made peppers when it was snowing outside!

And thanks about the radishes. It's already 80s here so maybe I'll wait till fall.

Jadenz, did you have any problems with aphids during the winter? I always seem to collect a nice supply of aphids and mites if I bring things in, but last year I used a systemic insecticide on all my ornamentals that I wintered over and was a great help, but I don't want to use that on an edible.

Yeah, that's always an issue but I found a safe cure. I put a bar of Ivory soap in a soup bowl of warm water and left it out all night. In the morning, I poured the soapy water into a 2 litre bottle and filled it up with water. Then I added 2 or 3 tablespoons of Canola oil. I mixed that up and poured some into a spray bottle.
Spray every part of the plants and even under the leaves and on the dirt too. I only had to spray mine twice and my peppers were very healthy when it was time to put them outside. :D I used that to save my hibiscus bush too and I only had to spray that once.

I picked my first blackberry today! And I got the cherry tomatoes planted too. I couldn't get anything else done cuz we had too many storms. I will add pictures to my post when the sun comes up.

EDIT. Here's some pictures I shot yesterday. I wanted to post them last night but there was too much happening.

The first Apache blackberry that got ripe. :-D And more Apache blackberries that are almost ripe.

The blueberries are getting ripe too.

And a Blue Hosta I planted. I thought it was dead but it sent up new leaves.

I forgot to shoot a picture of the tomatoes but I can add that later.

I think I was gone too long cause I couldn't find my thread. I didn't plant the radishes cause it was too hot so they woulda been tough. But the cherry tomatoes are looking awesome and everything else too! :D
It's been cold and storming here but I'm gonna try to find a break in the storms today so I can shoot some pictures and post them.
